Ateneo student volunteers recently had the opportunity to partner with UCCP-Kaunlaran Village and with the women of Sarimburao in Barangay 8, Caloocan City. Together, they learned about the power of community savings and how it can address some of the challenges the Sarimburao community face.💪
Did you know that according to the World Bank, 1.7 billion adults worldwide are unbanked and don’t have access to basic financial services? This makes it incredibly difficult for them to save money or invest in their future. But, by coming together as a community, we can change that!🌟
Through our partnership with UCCP-KV and Ateneo, we are able to empower these communities to take control of their financial futures by creating savings groups. Not only does this provide a safe and reliable way to save money, but it also helps build trust and social cohesion within the community.👥
