Lingap Pangkabataan, Incorporated and our Ka-Lingaps in the country and other parts of the world gathered in an online Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service as a kick-off to our year-long 40th anniversary celebrating God’s faithfulness to His ministry thru Lingap. Rev. Francisco Aviso, Jr, Lingap’s Treasurer, led the ecumenical service held via Zoom on June 30,
Gracing the occasion were current and former officers and staff members, representatives of Lingap project partners nationwide and former foster children. Bishop Norman Reuel Marigza, General Secretary of the National Council of Churches in the Philippines [NCCP], congratulated the organization for being an active member and a faithful co-worker in the Lord’s ministry in bringing a better life to Filipino children NOW.
Heads of other Lingap network partners and supporters including Mission Alliance, Tear Netherlands and Lingap’s funding partner when it started Kindernothilfe, the Philippine Children’s Ministries Network [PCMN] and other individuals all offered their congratulatory messages and solidarity.
After the Service, a brief “kumustahan” ensued where ideas for the year-long activity were put forward including the continuation of the COVID-19 Prevention Learning-Series with World Health Organization Philippines. There were also talks on holding a quarterly meeting open to all Ka-Lingaps as a venue to sustain their engagement in Lingap’s ministry.
The long-time dream of putting up a low-rise, shared used building that can serve as a knowledge and learning hub on Child-focused Church and Community Mobilization movement among Lingap’s church and NGO partners, was discussed and excite many of Lingap’s partners.
Let us all continue to pray and work hard with the children, the communities and sustain our ministry for another successful forty years and beyond.
